Forgetting to lock in the information

Hunting a lone merchant in a type II with 1 torp loaded. Line up just 900 metres away. He hasn't seen me. Then as i hit the fire button, I remeber. I didn't lock in the information

is this something others do, or is it just me?

Not just you, no. Me, and probably every other SH3 player ot one time or another. And it's not just on SH3, these are taken from Heinrich Bleichrodt's war diary in U-109...

19 Jan 1942

0453: "... During comparison of the UZO settings with the torpedo data computer a transmission error of 5° was noticed which had to be considered by the aimer when firing. The T.O. erroneously corrected this error to the wrong side."

0624: "The torpedo was fired with the wrong target angle because it was not yet adjusted after switching to the stern tubes ... this [third] shot missed as well, despite exactly calculated firing data. In this approach we fired with a fixed target angle from the UZO. Later we realized that the T.W.L. read off a wrong value for the side from the torpedo data computer and reported it to the T.O."

Nice to know we're not alone!

I hate when that happens.

This should make you feel better.

I'm an idiot where advance math is concerned, and long ago convinced myself that I would never be able to comprehend manual targeting. I have Manual set, but I use the WE Assistance. I understand that he's perfect, but somehow I'm still not. I use WE Assistance. I always open the tubes first.

Somehow I still manage to miss a lot.
