It is really fun, I got a buddy of mine to get it and we got hooked for days. Even playing on our lunch hour. What I like about it is that it is very quick (I have CIV 5 and it takes FOREVER) And all of the different rule sets are nice. However I do wish graphics were maybe a bit nicer / updated. Still, good game.

You need Java to run it, Sky doesn't like Java as it's a security risk, as is most things on the interwebz.

Ahh yeah, isn't it that Java can be cracked and told to do bad things remotely or something?? I mean Im not to worried seeing as how I need it anyways for Skype... And pretty much everything else now a days.

I want to create a protective computer system one day, that if someone tries to in any way alter my computer from the outside, mine tracks them down, and blows theirs up.. too much to ask for??

It's not just Skybird not liking Java, but national security authorities and IT experts as well. The threat potential from Java is much bigger than many other things on the webs. And Last two years have seen several security worst case scenario for Java in a row. The just released early "patch" once again leaves many of these maximum risk holes wide open.

The recommendation to deinstall Java, comes from national IT security offices.

There have been according threads, three or four, over the past twelve months or so, in the software sub forum of General topics.

Casey, I'm using Skype on my PC for just vidcam conference with another PC. As far as I am aware, I have no Java runtime environment installed, i just checked that. Java also gets not listed in my Secunia PSI's list of to-be-updated software - and I know from past times that Secunia tracks Java RTE if it is there.

I got hit with a Java exploit a few months back. The only thing that would find it was MSE.

I won't touch Java now, if I can at all help it.

Hey. This game I can actually play online. I played a round with Raptor1 earlier this evening. I had a small bit of lag but it was playable. I would like to know if anybody else would like to play! I like it.

Raptor1 also got me to download the MegaMek game. It's a simulation of the old BattleTech game. I still have to learn that game....

Here's a link to the site MegaMek

Who knew that board gaming on a computer might be fun?

I played it too online with my brother, very nice. The other included scenarios (mods) in the game should be fun too. Ancient era (roman), Napoleonic era and WW1 among others.
