The Troggs, along with such bands as The Seeds, were the founders of "Grarge Rock". As a young, beginning, guitar player, I was one of the millions to learn the simple, basic chords and song "Wild Thing". It stood for my generation as the first steps into rock music playing as much as "Smoke On The Water" would for a later generation. And, let's not forget the probably ultimate rendition by Jimi Hendiz at the Monterey Pop Festival... RIP, Reg; you leave a lot of inspired musicians behind you... <O>

This is sad news, may he rest in peace.
I loved that song when it first came out, was one of the most popular at the time! |

While the Troggs' version of Wild Thing was a cover (one of the greatest ever) Reg Presley was the composer of the great blues-pop ballad Love Is All Around.
Rock on, m'man. ![]()
