Lost at sea? hello?

Well this is embarrassing! I've been a member here for a long time, even longer then my registration date since I lost my original info. I re-upped in '06 and just haven't had anything too say

I was a huge I688 and Dangerous waters fan, I also played my fair share of SH2, I believe I found a few opponents here for Destroyer command back in the day and we had a great time, timing out

SH3 was my last real go around and I ended with the superb GWX mod.
I just recently purchased SH4 and SH5 through steam and want to get into the water again and this is still the place, So hello

Before I go a modding, is SH4 or SH5 vanilla even worth getting tangled up in? It seems 5 is much worse so I'm starting with 4. Any opinions on this?
