Sub Speed issue...

Hello everybody!

I'm playing SH5 for a week or two now (using sobers modlist).

I recognized a severe problem with the speed management of the sub:

Very often (I can't figure out what leads to this problem) the sub refuses to move slower if I want to.
When I set "All stop" it still cruises at 10-14kt without getting slower.. but there are no engine sounds to hear.
Even when I order "Full Astern" the speed doesn't drop below 7-8kt (ahead.. not astern ^^)

This happens both surfaced and submerged.

The only way I can fix this is, ordering "Standard Propulsion" by clicking the engineers avatar (at least I think it's the engineer)
Although I can fix it this way this issue could be deadly when a bunch of DDs is sniffing for me ...

Did anyone experience the same problem?

##EDIT##

I forgot to mention, this also appears when running the patrol scripts of Trevally Automated Scripts.
So sometimes I travel with 14 kt instead of the 7.5 kt which is set in the script.... thus shooting out of my patrol area ...

Hoib
Can't tell you why you are having speed problems, but have you tried pressing the ctrl key on your keyboard to manually set the speed?

Yes I tried to set my desired speed manually with no effect. My speed setting appears in the log (lower right of the screen) but the boat refuses to chance its speed.

tbh, this is the first time I have seen problem along this line.

Sounds like something is messed up, but I haven't heard such aftereffect to be linked to any of the known me mods or stock game...

ha.. not alone..finally

Well, I think it could be a problem with the battery charging mode of the engine...
When the battery is charging the symbol in the engineers avatar menu is still grey and not yellow (standard propulsion is yellow at this time)
I'll provide some screenshots later this evening to clear up this confusing statement above

Somethings really messed up here I guess

OK.. here we are! ... I figured out my sub has TWO battery recharge cycles! (at least it looks like).
And this might mess up the speed management.
Take a look at the message box on the lower right of my screenshot:

##EDIT##

I just found out that when the Trevally Automated Script (patrol) orders to dive for a hydro sweep and sets "All Stop", the speed under water doesn't drop below 2.6kt
I then used the hydrophone to listen if the screw is still turning but it IS NOT! All quiet but still holding the speed at 2.6kt
Then I pressed the "Standard Propulsion" button at the engineers menu. The voice and log gave me a "Secure Recharging Battery" "Standard Propulsion" ... which is funny, because i was at 30m for 2 minutes and the diesel engines should be turned off minutes ago.
After I ordered "Standard Propulsion" the boat immediately lost speed.

OK... I've figured it out. But I have no solution for the problem!

The problem is caused by "NewUIs_TDC_7_2_0_ByTheDarkWraith"

It sounds crazy to me because hundreds of people use it without problems.

I experimented with sobers modlist. Adding one mod after another and testing. As soon as I added "NewUIs_TDC_7_2_0_ByTheDarkWraith" the problem appeared. It also happens when ONLY "NewUIs_TDC_7_2_0_ByTheDarkWraith" is loaded by JSGME.

I took a screenshot from the sub-screws gauges (port, starbord) with sobers mod list loaded (stopping at "NewUIs_TDC_7_2_0_ByTheDarkWraith").... here you see, one screw does not stop turning although "All Stop" is ordered. Only when I select the engineers avatar and order "Standard Propulsion" the gauge loses RPM.
As soon as I order this the engineer answers with "Secure from Battery Charging" .. even when I was at 40m depth for hours... moving forward with 3-4kt by the moving 'Ghost-Screws'

As told in my first posting, no screw-sounds are to hear at the hydro.

Any suggestions?

downgrade to UI 7.1 and disable seprate engine controls in the .exe patch.

Or just the second part.
