UK Stopping Aid to India

About time, £200,000,000 pa less for the Indian government to spend on buying Rafales instead of Typhoons. Because, lets face it, it was never for the people who needed it.

I hope this is just the start because I'd also stop aid to Pakistan and Nigeria without a moments hesitation.

I'd have stopped Pakistan's quite a few years ago. We must surely stop very soon, it wouldn't go down too well in New Dehli if we're still ploughing cash into their sworn enemies.

Nigeria, OTOH, we're just helping some prince to get his money out of the country.

Why for ever for,,.. I thought everybody was into redistrabution of wealth it's way to early in the game to stop now,, we got a cliff to fall off of,,for you 47 percent it's to late to start having second thoughts now,,, my god people worked so so hard for this moment. They are all ready rationing gas in and around New York City and New Jersey they said,, that it will go on for weeks. If anybody has the smarts or the ability, I'd get out of the northeast, before it becomes a desert come winter,, find a nice warm place before the locals get hostile.

Yubba, stop spamming the forum. This thread has nothing to do with anything you posted, and it is the second time that you have done this today.

I would agree that if India can fund it's own space program, it can look after it's own poor. British citizens should not foot the bill for it.

At this rate, it won't be long until aid is going the other way. In times of austerity, foreign aid in general should be one of the very first things cut out IMO.

And India is, in many regards, already a wealthier country than the UK. It will take a bit more time for them to fully unlock their country's economic potential, but as the last couple of decades suggest, they are well on their way there.

I think we are witnessing countries looking inward in hopes of survival in the future. The first to go is programs that are throwing good money after bad. Diminishing returns on investments overseas.

I hope that includes paying into the EU where the auditors have again, for the 18th consecutive year, refused to sign off the accounts.

About time really. You should worry about your own citizens before another's, even more so in times like this.

I could be wrong but I believe the only growth element in the last budget was overseas/foreign aid.

So we'll probably just give the 200m to another country.

Its about time as India has said we're making more money than the UK and yet up to now the UK has forced the money onto them...
