Default Attacking/Shadowing Convoys

So I've gotten back into playing SH3 again, and intercepted a convoy of about 15 ships and 2 escorts last night. Successfully sank two ships before diving deep and waited for the escorts to leave me. But it occurred to me that I have no experience as what to do now that the convoy has moved on. I mean, shadowing and intercepting it again seems like an obvious move, but the convoy is about 50KM west of Belfast right now,and i'm not how dangerous the St.George Canal is in 1940. So,just wanted to hear what some other kaleuns would do if it was their decision.

I would have stayed away.
Driving an IX in there is suicadial!
There isn't room to dive and the Elcos can make your life miserable.

Go for open waters to find another convoy.
Gute Jadg Herr Kaleun!

i take it you mean east of belfast as 50km west would land you around cookstown lol i have taken a IX in there before but be warned that it is very hard to lose destroyers as you have less than 100M to play with so their asdic is very effective. unless you are pretty good at dodging DCs i would advise against it but if there are any big tonnage ships to be had then it may be worth the risk

I suppose 75KM North East of Belfast then haha, unless Bernard snuck aboard again.......

But,there are a handful of 5-6K ton ships as well as the typical 1.5-2K ton ships, and its been a poor patrol so far, think I'll go for it and hope for the best. If it works out I'll post some screenshots for everyone's enjoyment.

Sounds shallow to me.

I'd take out the escorts first then go wild with the deck gun.
