Heh, it definitely goes for the deathmatch style.

What I like about it so much is the combat. Your weapon reacts to environment
and if you execute a horizontal swing, the damage is dealt along the whole arc.

There was this one 2vs2 skirmish inside a small house the other day. We kept
swinging our swords, but no one could hit anyone because the swords kept
hitting the support beams of the house.

These two tutorial videos give a pretty good example of how nice the combat
can be when it's 1v1:

Got this game today, it is even better than I thought. I used to play Warband but... I think I can uninstall it now without any regrets.

The combat is brutal and very precise, like Dowly said.
