Another sub?

I stumbled upon a task force and while I was getting into positon a ship sunk. I didn't see it happen but it came up it was sunk. The light cruisers are doing what looks like DC runs and the troop transports are doing zig-zags.
Is it possible another sub attacked them and is getting dpeth charged? If so then it's silent because I cant hear it.
second one gone down
Not sure if it was me but a destroyer fired of a vollley that was aimed no were near me. Hit a light cruiser with a torpedo in the rear
Must of hit a magazine massive eplxosions all over the ship enemy unit destroyed mesage gotten pretty sure I guessed the contact influence depth perfectly

Must be another game....I know of no added allied subs in sh4 campaign mode.

The only enemy subs that function in game are in mods and they only work on the surface and fire deck guns only.

Playing stock escorts will drop charges about anywhere and often go slow and the charges blow them up.

Is it possible for a ship to hit another ship then? No aircraft and no mods. or it to randomly sink?

I don't think I have ever seen a random sinking. But I did once see an IJN heavy cruiser run completely through and over one of his escorting destroyers. After being cut nearly in half and rolled over a full turn, and dragged for at least a mile, the destroyer magically repaired all it's wounds and sailed off apparently unscathed. The cruiser seemed no worse for the collision either. So perhaps those collisions are not fatal? I don't know.

Yes, two friendly ships can collide with each other causing one/both of them damage. Enough damage to sink. I've seen this before. It's usually when a convoy gets scattered after your sub makes its position known. Some ships AI have the ability to maneuver more easily than others. Those that do, avoid contact with the other friendlies. Those that don't, will plow right into them.
