What is considered excellent or above???

While playing careermode I noticed the different ranks to achieve.
Under the highest rank (Kapitän zur see) stood,
Awarded after at least 5 patroles of excellent or better rating.
Now is my question what is to be considered as excellent or better?
Can any of you give me numbers and/or criteria on this?

Your rank will change according to the amount of renown you accumulate dendant on how little or much you spend on upgrades.

But he is speaking of patrols? I honestly can't remember if SH5 has a rating
system for each mission or something.

Really ought to install the bastard again, and do one of them 1xTC AARs.
