Default New to Radio Room

I've enjoyed Silent Hunter 4 for a few years. I've been tinkering with Silent Hunter 5, but for some reason I keep going back to Silent Hunter 4.

Yeah, Silent Hunter 5 looks nice. But in order for your copy to work, it has to be CONSTANTLY connected to the internet. So, if Ubisoft's servers are down, you can't play at all. It sucks, but I am having fun with Silent Hunter 4 and the mods that go along with it. I think I'll buy Silent Hunter 3 on Steam as well. As Stryck_9 said, "These games may be oldies, but they sure are goodies."

Same for me, i was heavily impressed with the graphics and there are pretty good mods out there..

But the problems started on day one, first patrol ended in a CTD cruising back to my homeport after playing for four hours. Second patrol i lost al my UI buttons, they turned white and that really doesnt help. I can't delete my saved games, tried it in any way possible even deleted the whole file but still they returned in my save list. I got 10 credits for doing the tutorial.....sigh i'm to old for that bull and things like that make me point my mousebutton towards the uninstall button and press it.

Although there are serious modders out there that really improve the game, an awfull lot of work has to be done to fix this game, even more so then the others.

After some digging into the forum i found out that 3 supermods were started and ended, for different reasons.

As far as i've read there are no other U-boat models in the game, so they have to be build from scratch with all the interiour animations and such, making this a real challenge for a modteam and an impossible job for one modder.

So i uninstalled it, and i went back to SH4 TMO 2.5...

I also like U.S subs more, but that's just personal

Ahoy Home2Day!
You aren't the only one as you can see. I loved played '4' for a long time and '3' was good for the Atlantic. I was really floored by SH5 after getting it all fixed up. But I missed the Pacific and the whole vibe of the Philippines after the war breaks out, Pearl too.
So, I've got campaigns going in each game, (except SH3. not right now)
I thought I would not have as much fun as I used to but I've found the opposite to be true. The Pacific is so vast and there are so many changes from month to month, Yr to Yr, that it never gets boring for me. I Love them both!
Cheers
