look at the depth guage, once you get to the red area (360 i think) then you are too deep so stay above it, i never go below 300 and if you have damage i wouldnt go below 200-250 depending on how much damage you have.

gato and balao can go much deeper to 600

When you get a new boat, test it. Be sure to save, then dive until the boat starts to crush. You can tell because you'll hear a sound like glass breaking. Watch your depth, when you reach that depth, remember it. Reload and go on.

Cheat, sure, but one which ought to be encouraged. I am pretty sure there is a random factor in the game's calculation of crush depth. So someone who relies on a "tested" crush depth could be in for a nasty surprise.

Computers are purely deterministic. Computer sims don't have to be. That makes them entertaining.

No random factors per say, cept damage, even minor can effect crush depths. Mods also set crush depth differently.

But I agree. The only way to have random crush depths is to use a mod, and the only ones I know of that randomize crush depth are for SH3.

Ducimus has it in TMO, but not to the extent of the SH3 Mods. But crush depth is different for the different classes of boats.
