Default I'm getting Dark Souls prepare to die edition this week!

Any tips!

Well i got myself a new keyboard and im hoping my mouse will hold out, stored up on coffee trying to knock the cigarettes on the head so not storing up on smokes atm. And some new PC speakers my old speakers are screwed it wont play bass sound. so i bought Logitech Surround Sound Speakers Z506 5n1 nothing special just as long as the bass sounds play. $117

I know Dark souls is going to be hard and frustrating, but im prepared not to die...often

You mention a new keyboard and such, but it's strongly advised to play this game with a pad, as the keyboard and mouse controls are rather abysmal.

Prepare nerves of steel. It's really trial and error until you find the right strategy and while finding, you will die. A lot. Because of this the game is also über rewarding when you finally succeed.

Gaming pad, i don't like using them. Will just have to put up with the kb/mouse. Why do people compare Diablo 3 & DarkSouls they are ARPG's but totally different games, D3 is gear based DS is not. I've been reading a lot of this on the net tonight.

^ Really, a Pad is advisable. At the very least don't draw any conclusions about the game due to its shambolic keyboard controls/support without at least testing with a pad.

You will require the resolution rendering mod, available here:http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=488240 It will need .ini tweaking.

Also, go into this game in the full knowledge that it is still the 360 version. Nothing has been optimised or altered in porting it to the PC, it's still locked to 30fps but they may change in time, mods permitting.

Once you get past these nuances, except Dark Souls for what it is, a bloody good game that everyone should experience at least once. I'll pick it up again when it's on sale, I pumped too many hours in to the PS3 version to pass up, besides I would like to experience Blight Town at something more than 8fps.
