Default Stadimeter and optics.

Looking at the optics here and trying to find out how to get the stadimetre to give reasonable results.

Mods: GWX3 Gold, MaGui.

A few questions on use of scopes and the UZO:

With the periscopes (zeroed before use), how important is it to have it at water level when using the stadimeter? It seems I get some pretty wild readings on the stadimeter if the scope is fully raised (at periscope depth) and the scope tilted down to hit the waterline but better results if the scope is raised just enough for the (zeroed) horizontal line to hit the target's waterline.

Which brings me to the UZO (ok, it doesn't have a stadimeter here but still, for "manual readings"). Because of it's elevation above the water surface, I need to tilt it if I want the horizontal line matching the target's waterline. So zeroing the UZO makes less sense.

I guess what I could use is a quick guide to proper use of the optics for not-so-outlandish distance readings.

Side note: From a game mechanic point of view, the stadimeter is a hunt for pixels but at x12 zoom each mark is 1/8th of a degree and even at 10,000 metres (mast height 30 metres) one would need to miss the mast by 3-4 pixels before the result is too far off. Do correct me here if I'm wrong here.
