Default Good to be back

Hi everyone,
I returned to SH3 after almost 4 years...I never got bored of it actually, but dealing with things like moving, changing jobs etc etc meant that I had to put it aside for what I thought it would be a while. However, when my HD crashed I lost all hope of coming back as I felt there was no chance to have enough time to reinstall all that mod soup I used to have. But I was never able to get it entirely out of my mind...at some point, I came across the limited edition of SH5 and I bought it, thinking it was my chance to return to the Atlantic. Needless to say I never even installed it and it sits on my shelf instead of the store shelf ever since. About 3 weeks ago, I got back into Subsim...that was it, I HAD to reinstall SH3, GWX and all those wonderful mods, which is what I did. Now it's May 1940 and U-50 is about to commence her 4th war patrol. And of course it feels great to be again among this great community, to which SH3 owes a great deal of what it is today.
I salute you!

Welcome KptLt Lindemann!

Those could be my words. I didn't have the time to play SH3 but I did miss it now and then. I never did uninstall SH3 though, it was there waiting for an opportunity timewise. Luckily now I do have a few days to spare for the game

Welcome back. You are truly addicted and the only cure is more playing time.

Yup. It never really goes away.
I guess SH3 is a bit like some sort of medical disorder.

Cheers, KptLt Lindemann. Sink'em all!

Welcome KptLt Lindemann!

I too just reinstalled SH3. Going through the tutorials now and looking forward to getting back into WAW. Seems there's quite a lot been going on since you and I have been absent.
Cheers
H

I'm in the same boat. Just got a new computer and reloaded SH3 with GWX Gold. I'm playing one or two more patrols before I try to get MFM working as well. Then I need to see what I can do to tweak the graphics. I haven't hit a convoy at night yet, so I want to try that first to see how it looks on the new rig before I mod anymore. Loving it so far, although my current patrol has been nothing but bad weather and small ships.

A family gave me an old computer and i modified my old computer(P4 2.66) GPX card in the P4 3.40Mhz(GPX FX5200) with 2,8GB to play SHIII again, man, it runs allot better versus my P4 2.66 with 1GB memories and 256MB GPX card...
