Does anyone know if it's better to Get additional hands while in base to be the deck gun crew and the Damage control team, or is it better to just pluck guys from your other compartments.
I ask because I'd like to be able to hit the man the deck gun button, and actually have guys man it ASAP. Sorry if this question sounds like it has an obvious answer, but I'm just not sure. |

I usually grab a few extras for the damage control team, and use them for the deck gun and aa gun crews. But don't leave them there, because if you take damage from depth charges or bombs, it is usually fatal for them, and they start to get a little gamey after a few days, and the game doesn't allow burial at sea for dead crew members.

Yep, the game sees the deckgun crew as outside, so regardless if you're submerged, if you have them in the gun slots, they're still outside, so they're easily killed by depth charges.
I fill all the slots in the damage crew. Many mods add another compartement such as the aft battery or Hogan's alley so you can have more men. |
