Default Fog density in GWX 3.0 Gold?

Last night I hit one of my own , but that's all because of BDU's idiotic orders and fog off course ... first they send me in AN 31... I think 20 or so hours off my base (Wilhelmshaven). IXB cross-Atlantic sub in my own backyard? For God's sake send TypeII there!Operation Weserübung is even over... it's May 15-th! So I sit in front of blue colored towns - ports and waste my time with my own TF's hanging around... then I hear a merchant getting closer... I doubted it could be my own but I fired anyway...
Now the question, is fog in GWX gold less dense than in vanilla SH3? I had a pretty good sight of a merchant just before I fired... unfortunately i didn't have time to check the flag who I couldn't see trough periscope, but it seems to me that visibility in foggy conditions in GWX gold is about 1 km? As far as I remember in vannila was about maybe 400 meters...

If you use the 16km atmosphere it's about 800 metres. If you use the 8km atmosphere it's about 400 metres. Always with rain though.

I would say it would be around 1,000 metres, but cannot be 100% certain as I've not used the 20km atmosphere.
