Conning Tower Open Hatch With Food

I keep switching back and forth between Lucagaeta's 'Conning Tower Open Hatch With Food' and Diving Duck's original 'Open Hatch' mod. I like the 'Conning Tower' mod because the observation periscope works. It goes up and down and it turns. I have a habit of trying to feel like I'm really there, so whenever I hit any key that lets me dive I immediately right-click the mouse to go to the conning tower, wait until the entire dive routine is done, then go down to the control room, either by walking or by another right-click. 'Conning Tower' defaults to the radio room, which I don't like.

I know how to change the default move from the radio room to the conning tower, and how to rerout F9 to get me there as well. Only problem is that if I do that to the 'Conning Tower' mod it doesn't take me down to the tower, it cuts me loose. I'm suddenly suspended in air watching my boat sail away without me. If I should do it again sometime later I'm returned to the point where it happened the first time, in the air above the ocean in the middle of nowhere, my boat long gone.

Currently I'm using the original 'Open hatch' because it's the only one that works the way I want it to. But I want that moving periscope.

steve, i belive if you hit the number pad 0 key when that happens, u will be placed back at your last camera view, thus putting you back in your boat where you belong

I can get back to any camera position using the normal keys, except the conning tower.

But I found a workaround. The default return position from the bridge is 'Interior Free Cam'. I found I can walk up the ladder to the conning tower, then F4 to the bridge. At that point a right-click will take me back to the inside free cam, which is where I left it - in the conning tower!

Unfortunately I fiddled with it so much that I broke it. Now I get to reinstall the whole game for the hundredth time or so.

This has been a problem ever since.
The 'Dude, my Boot is leaving without me' thing with the Conning-Tower Cam.

It's a side-effect of the free walking part of the Tower Cam. AFAIK!

Hmm. That makes sense. Thanks for the tip. I just have to decide which part I want to live without.
