Default gauge reading question.

Good day, fellow Captains.

I've started playing SHIII- using GWX mod again after a lengthy layoff. (forgive me)

One thing I have never figured out how to do, is read the fuel gauge. Becuase I have never comitted to doing a lengthy patrol, I've never had to worry about my fuel level.

As you are on a 2-3-4 week long patrol, does the "gold" colored segment of the fuel gauge get larger as fuel gets burned off from the tanks?

Can someone please enlighten me on how to properly read this particular gauge?

Thank you in advance.

No. The gold band is just that, and is there for realism's sake. The 'guage' isn't a guage at all, but a glass tube with fuel inside it. You'll see the level drop as time goes on.

Thank you Sailor Steve. I'll be watching as my patrols progress.

Large commercial coffee pots have a similar gauge on them, if you've seen one of those.

I had forgotten about those Gargamel. Good call. Haven't seen one in a long time, but yes I remember now.
