Old/new submariner saying hello and first question!

Hi to everyone!

I am new here but been for some time in subsims - first one was Sierra's ''Aces of the deep'' . Then for some time haven't played them, but about two or three yrs ago i decided to give SH III a try and was delighted!!

SH 5 is my current gaming choice but i must say that somehow 3 was better ( graphics excluded). Unfortunately, had not got a chance to play SH IV....not yet, that is

And now for my first question> I would like to try and mod SH V and found some JGSME 2.6, but it would not install as it was said here on the site in instructions...Only thing i could do is to put (from the downloaded zip file) folder MOD in my game folder manually and JGSME.exe from that zip is executable for application, not the installation... However, i managed to get it running, foun a few mods and it seemed that in installed them but when i run the game i do not see or hear any changes...

Also on the official JGSME site there is no download link...

How do i know if mod is properly installed?

I have SH V 1.2
