Default What is CCoM?

Hi everyone,

Browsing the forums I keep seeing references made to CCoM - Captain's Choice of Mods. I visited the link below rowi58's profile and downloaded the 2 pdf's; 'Handbuch_CCOM-8-0.pdf' & 'CCOM-8-1-Basis-TEXTNEU.pdf', but even though it states on on of the pages 'Bilingual EN - GE' they're all in German. Does anyone have an English translation available?

Also, is this a stand-alone mod or does it get added to the likes of GWX for example? Searching doesn't result in many returns, and Google sends me to German language forums.

The screenshots in the pdf's look great, and I would really like to know more about this mod as it seems a lot of work has been involved - just a shame my German language skills are rather bad.

Thanks all!

Is a stand alone mod
Have it on one of my installs
Well worth a go

Comes with own SH3commander files also so make sure you have more than one install of that too

Thanks bigboywooly, I think I'll give it a shot and try it out. Can I ask though, what order did you install it?

I see from the rowi58's mediafire page the following:

Programme.7z.001 to 007 - I assume that is first. Then there is a folder called CCoM 7.x - Updates, this also has several files. Then finally there is a CCoM 8.x Updates folder, again with a few files. In addition, there is CCoM AddOns folder. As I say, the problem is I don't understand the German so want to ensure I get it installed correctly.

I'm getting the above info from here:
http://www.mediafire.com/rowi58#olg711f15siaj

Any help that you, or others using CCoM, can supply me with regarding the addons or any pitfalls I should be aware of would be great.

Thanks,
Px3000

Yeah the programme part is a self extractor that will give you a programme folder.
Part of that is for the mods folder and the other part for SH3commander - clearly labelled so easy to do

I then added the 7.2/7.3/7.4 updates - some of which are again to commander and the rest are made up of additions/changes/bunker starts etc

Then 8.1

Not sure if all the 7. updates are needed bus as have had installed a while added in when came available.

You could PM Rowi58 on here as its his mod and a more helpfull bloke you wont find

Hi Phoenix3000,

the actual version is CCoM 8.0, That is the content of the seven files "Programme.7z.001" up to "Programme.7z.007".

The files in the folder "Update 7.x" are not necessary - only for those who stil have the version 7.0.

Just one hint: don't try to run CCoM on a XP OS with 2 GB of RAM. It will not run. Minimum is 4 GB of RAM - the best is a 64-bit-OS with 6 GB or more of RAM.

Greetings

Thanks for the help rowi58 & bigboywooly!

However...

I can't run it. It's ok when launching the naval academy for example, but with a career I get a CTD.

I tried various updates but still no luck, CTD's every time. It looks really good too!

I just came on here and saw your message rowi58, and I do have an XP (Home) 32-bit system that only recognises 3GB...

Oh well, definitely one to try later when I upgrade.

Thanks again for the help though guys, much appreciated!
