Default [TEC] Shell counter

I´ve been lookin into the shells.dat and I noticed that every shell has a ShellCounter. I am wondering, what exactly does the ShellCounter do? Is it this thing that makes the shells look like the pulse phasers from the USS Defiant?

I think this counter-controller counts the numbers of shells. fired by the guns.
Each gun got their numbers of shells specified in the sim-file.
If they run out, the gun can not fire anymore.
For this kind of simulation the Shellcounter-controller is needfull

Regards

Maddy

Thanks. I guess the pulse phaser is hard-coded.
