Default Peru cyclists stage naked protest in Lima about safety

A 'cheeky' protest indeed

Quote:
Hundreds of scantily clad and nude cyclists took to the streets of Peru's capital, Lima, to call attention to safety conditions on the city's roads.

I watched few videos on youtube about this and it wasn't like Queen's Bicycle Race, far from it.

It's not a good thing when vehicles come into contact with bicycle riders. Some drivers are just plain careless. My uncle was swiped by a side-view mirror one day on his way to work. My mother was hit at an intersection one afternoon while she was out riding. She survived with a minor leg injury. A couple years back there was a cyclist that wasn't so lucky. He was killed outright. Drivers ought to take better care when there's a cyclist in the road. The car or truck has a tremendous advantage over the human body.

Sorry to hear that krashkart. I've been on both side of the fence. When I'm on a bike, I treat all drivers as morons and it's kept me safe so far.

Although these types of bikers deserve to get hit (not killed, but we'll let Darwin decide that)

While it is a spoof on Portland life, it is a very accurate portrayal of militant portland bikers. One of them was hit recently, turns out he was running stop signs and weaving in and out of traffic.
These dudes are dangerous.

I remember that episode.

Yeah, not all bike riders are guilty of being careful and courteous on the road. I had an axe to grind earlier...
