Acquired SH5 some weeks ago and couldn't get into due to the forced walking with WASD. Yesterday I discovered the DarkWraith UI which let's one teleporting between stations, so the game finally becomes somehow playable for me.
Having said that, I still disgree with camapign start, where one get thrown immediately into combat during dark night. Frankly, I pretty dislike this approach and would prefer a calm start at harbour, sunny weather and no enemy contact, to familiarize myself with the game before diving into action. Is there any mod available to change camapign settings or maybe even a custom campaign? |

I think what you are describing is the tutorial. It starts you out where you need to sink a few ships, then you head back home and the campaign starts normally there. After you have completed the tutorial, a new campaign start allows you to skip the tutorial and start normally. But the start time is random (time of day).
