Default Revised end of our civilization as we know it.

I have to reevaluate my prediction of the end of our civilization. Prior, I was predicting the end would come in April, 2012 with the release of the new Three Stooges movie where the three stooges are in modern times and association with something called a "snookie".

It will be an abomination. But we already have a thread on that.

Unfortunately, I had to revise my prediction to the fact that our civilization is already doomed.

There I was, minding my own business, doing some grocery shopping. I happened to take a short cut through the beer/wine aisle which I rarely do.

I am looking at the selection of beers, thinking of how lucky I am to live in a free country where a man can have a wide choice in beers.

Then my eyes caught sight of something. I had to take a double take..even a triple take. It had to be a joke. But there it was.

Bud Light and Clamato

http://www.google.com/imgres?hl=en&c...r2_jdDw&zoom=1

What brought us to this lowly state?

And who was the sick bastage that thought "hmmm, you know what would go good with this bud light? Clam juice and tomato juice".

Sad. I blame the Germans for this. At home The Frau often does unnatural things with beer (beer and diet coke for one). But that is a personal insanity and we can deal with it.

But to commercially produce Bud Light (blach) mixed with Clamato (blach blach) is an abomination against beer and tomato.

No need to wait for the end of civilization.... it is already here.

Don't know where you are, but we've had that Demon's concoction here in Southern California for a few years now. I remember the first time I saw it in a store, my reaction was the same as yours. We may have gotten it first, as a test market, since people here in the Los Angeles area are fond of ungodly mixtures. The things they put on pizza are stomach wrenching; I mean kiwi fruit on pizza, really? And there seems to be a mania for putting chilies on or in nearly everything, particularly jalapeno chilies. There once was a beer sold here (it may have been a Mexican import) that had jalapeno added to the bottle. I couldn't begain to tell you of all the variations of beer I have seen over the past couple of decades here in Los Angeles. I long for the simpler days when a beer was a beer and not a high school chemistry experiment...

Well Bud and Bud Lite in particular are their own form of abomination against the laws of beer.

Well, I've always maintained the only reason Bud is so popular is because it's the easiest name to say when you are already drunk:

Bartender: What'll ya have. pal?

Customer: Gimme a Heinek...(hic) Heine...(hic)...Lowen...(burp)...Lowen...(burp)... jush make it a Bud...

Ya, things are definitely on the down slope.

I've said this before; there is no wrong way to drink beer but now I regret that statement. Beer makers go to great lengths to make this stuff and you want to mix it with what?

The apocalypse can't be far off.

Verdammt! Another great plan of us to conquer the world has been compromised...

We even brewed this one for your Frau:

(Cola Light means diet cola in our unique perversion of the English language)
Fortunately it's no longer produced, guess the brewery couldn't live off the one sole customer overseas

Unfortunately, she mixes her own... in front of people. She has no shame.

To me beer is like Scotch. It is to be enjoyed for what it IS.

Nope. Blame the Mexicans. It's a pre-made michelada which is basically like a beer Bloody Mary. Supposedly they're really good when you make a real one, but I wouldn't know because I would never mess with my beer by putting anything in it.

For me it's sidewalks. You never, ever want to be hit in the face with a sidewalk.
