Default Convoys and hidrophones in SH5...

Hi guys,

As we already know, in RL, uboats could detect convoys more or less 100km away in good conditions.

SH3 can't handle differently convoys or single ships sound contacts max.distance...

Do you know if in SH5 we have hydrophones different maximum distances between convoys and single ships?

I tried the forum search for the above question but didn't found any info.

Thanks sober, but this isn't exactly my question...I should like to know IF sh5 can "listen" a convoy far way than a single ship as in real life.

I think that any unit is only loaded into the game when it is within 30km of the player unit and so can not be heard futher out than that

Thanks Trevally! So, it´s yet the same since Sh3!
I noticed just that (should like a confirmation, thanks!) and also that the Follow nearest sound contact only works IF the contact is less than 25km (again the same as in SH3). This is why you sometimes have the contact but when ask to the sonarman follow it, he replies "no sound contact, sir".

This just show us (one more time) that the devs almost didn´t fixed any of the old bugs on sh series....

Also i could mention that I was with the idea that I saw somewhere that SH5 have the capacity to have different distances contacts for single ships or convoys...but probably was just a dream...on one of these last sleepness nights messing with mods on sh5! I´m almost shure that i saw this somewhere!

Rubni, I think you will find that SH5 will show to be the same as SH3, and SH4 in many aspects. Sh5, is a modification of SH4, which was a modifcation of SH3. parts of SH3 will be at the root of the game, The files for both SH3, and SH4 still exist in the data directory. The bugs for both SH3 and SH4 carried over too. There are a number of code level fixes that should have been done with SH4 ver 1.5, before using it as a base for SH5, and they didn't do it.

Yeah! as more I mess with SH5 more I find an old sh3 in it. Mainly the bugs!

But now...how are you, Ducimus? Long time without talk with you!
