Default Yak has a new supersonic plane

It looks pretty cool, and if i had a spare few million i think id buy one, its not a front line fighter aircraft its a trainer but it does look pretty cool.

Sure, it's just a trainer. That's exactly what they want you to think, then BLAMMO there's a YAK hot on your six guns blazing.

The first few seconds I thought I was an F-111.

Then an F-18, then a Hawk (or any other FJ trainer), then some other random aircraft parts...

Almost Chinese!

Yeah, I'd say a Hawk had a hot night in Bangkok with an F-16 there.

Not a bad looking bird though, seen a lot worse.

You guys need to touch up on your military aircraft the new YaK looks most like the Republic of China's F-CK-1.

Cute!

It's probably a nice, cost-effective solution for a lot of smaller air forces.

Shhhhhh! Don't tell our ministers or we'll be getting them in the UK, especially if it can be carrier-able.

That is a Russian plane made by a Russian manufacturer. If there is potential buyer with £££ or $$$ it will be carrier-able in no time.

Lots of good features on that, by the way. I think it's a very clever design that will do good on the market. Twin engine, supersonic, fly by wire, modern avionics, set up to operate from unprepared strips and away from maintenance facilities (check out those inlet covers on takeoff!). I think it's quite a bit ahead of what the competition has to offer, so I think it'll be a winner.

It's also interesting how they're selling it as a training complex that can be configured to imitate the systems and performance of not only Russian but also Western aircraft for training - including the F-35 as they claim.

And no doubt, someday these will also end up in private hands. I want one
