finally i learn how intercept a ship only with the hydrophone and a evading a angry destroyer, yesterday for example i was in trouble with a wakatake and a small composite freighter, both very nasty, but after ten minutes of fight, both were at the bottom of the china sea...

remember those days where i cant understand how to shoot that mogami

to understand radar, the easiest way is to download the OTC mod, and activate US radar from the beginning of the war. Then, read CapnScurvy's tutorial dealing with radar, which provides a great explanation. His radar unit picks up planes and ships.
