Default Project 636.3 (06363) Kilo?

These are being built for the BSF, but I wasn't previously aware of this variant. The article on the subsim front page says that these can strike land targets, so I suppose I could infer from that, that these are the first non-export Kilos armed with the Klub series missiles. I've had zero luck googling any further information. Does anyone have a source mentioning any changes from the standard 636?

No idea. I thought 636.3 to be same as "improved Kilo" but that seems to be 636M.

We got to call TLAM Strike to help us...

Saw those. Good, at least that means my google-fu isn't that horrible.

No news as of yet but the black sea fleet are generally made of cast offs from the northern fleet, they have been testing AIP tech for the last few years but as of yet nothing much to go on and ive come up with nothing, they have suspended building the replacements for the kilos so they may be refitting some units to extend thier lives and using AIP but its only a hunch and to me refitting a kilo makes sence as they have a past record for doing it.

It doesn't look like it will be composed of cast offs for long. The majority of new ships being built are going to go to the Black Sea and Pacific fleets. The article on the front page mentions that all 6 636.3s are under construction (so they're not just plans, it's actually happening). It's also noteworthy that they are building Kilos instead of Ladas, as well as Krivak IVs (Talwars) instead of the new Gorshkov FFGs. So instead of a pie-in-the-sky plan for modernization, they are actually going with proven designs that they know they can build quickly, and in numbers that will dramatically change the balance of power in the region.

Perhaps the US could learn something from this.
