I've been playing SH3 for years... AOD before that...
I just order the combo of SH4 and it's add on pack. Any starter advice, bugs to look out for etc...? Thanks! |

You are coming to the series at a great time. SH4 has been out for 5 years, there are many mods available for it. Game Fixes Only may be one you start with as it addresses ( as aptly titled ) stock bugs with the game.
From there perhaps try one of the other Super-mods, and there are 5-6 to consider. Check out the various threads and go from there. Last edited by ReallyDedPoet; 01-23-12 at 01:01 PM. |

Except of course for the poster who recently complained it's too easy.

If you have space on your hard drive consider doing this.
Install the stock vanilla game and do not mod it at all. Play it for a while and see how you like it. Then get this MultiSH4 1.5 http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/down...o=file&id=1110 It allows you to have more than one install of the game on your computer. Keep your stock vanilla game as a base and mod the copy as you want to. If you screw up your copy game, just delete it and make a new copy. |

Also, when I was reading a post is sounded like that TMO allowed you to control a surface vessel? Is that the case or was I just reading that into the post?

Playable surface ships are a mod in them selves.
All ways use this to install any mods. http://www.users.on.net/~jscones/software/products-jsgme.htm The playable ships will work along with some megamods and some not. My experence is that the surface ships work with stock and with TMO, but not with RFB. Thats for me and the ships I was playing, could be different for you and the ships you want to use. Read the directions! With the mod enabler, with the mods! Look at the readme's!!!! |
