Default My first post to the room from an old lurker.

Hello and greetings.
My first proper post since becoming a member in 2009.

My main interest here is Silent Hunter 3 for PC. I have been playing this game in single user mode with only medium Realism settings since the game was launched. I seem to like long winded strategy/tactic games and I find the Dynamic mode excellent at creating new 'achievable' objectives for me.
I have added the Ubisoft patches and some of the minor mods, which I have enjoyed using.
I am however now looking to try the major mods available via this site. There are sooooo many!
I have read through as many threads as I can to try and understand things but I admit to feeling a little bewildered as to which major mod to use and in what order to install them. Also it seems, though I am not sure, that some mods will activily conflict with each other. It is these possible conflictions that I'm confused with, there seems so many differing viewpoints across these threads and no simple 'one way is best' advice. Therefore I may be posting here again very soon asking for help. If at some point in the future I can also post help for others I will be well pleased.

For Background info.
I am male, British, 53.
PC is low spec. AMD SEMPRON, 1.25GB DDR RAM, ATI Radion 256MB graphics, 200GB and 120GB SATA1 drives, Win XP Pro, ZoneAlarm free, AVAST AV free. Home ethernet network. It plays SH3 very smoothly and it works fine for me.

I have been enjoying submarine simulation games since SILENT SERVICE for the Amstrad CPC6128 computer of 1988. That Amstrad machine is STILL working today (as a simple typewriter for my dad).

Here's to a happy membership here.
