Default Celebrating the new year in Scapa Flow...

First of all i would like to wish to all members-captains a very happy New Year

As the tittle said......and shortly before the sunrise of the New Year .... and a few minutes after ..... Scapa Flow celebrates with my crew.....
  • Real Navigation.......100%.........With Manual TDC.....
  • without external views.........
  • sailling as blind........
  • don't know where i'm going......
  • with only 4 torpedoes......3 in front...1 back.......
  • DM4 the killing of destroyer in the entrance of Scapa......
  • DM7 the BIG One.......
  • DM6 the killing of 2nd destroyer in the exit of Scapa......
  • 2 torpedoes in Big one and the last torpedoe to destroyer....and the killing was a little bit simultaneously.......
  • With 53% Hull integrity from airlplanes before Scapa.....

When i was getting out of Scapa after plotting my course for the base and pressing TC more.....a destroyer caught me and shot me some bullets....

i had some damage....i submerged and he passed over me whithout drop to me charges......

maybe he din't know where i was.....he lost me.....

After that.......look the last picture and guess how difficult it is to me to get back to base......

But i Beleive that i can handle it........as Greek...

Do you think that i will be back at the base ?.......The answer in next year...... Happy New Year my friends and Captains.....

Georgios From Greece

You sailed right in the main entrance???

I'd say there's something wrong with the scenario.

I did this mission the same way, Steve... sailed right in the front, sank the battleship, then exited through the western opening. Never saw any minefields - but did find sub nets in the western opening. I must have been more sneaky tho... never had a shot fired at my boat until I was outside Scapa.

Oh, I believe it. My point was that if the game lets you do that, the game is screwy. Prien was only able to sneak in the east channel after Doenitz had surveyed aerial photographs and the two of them carefully plotted it. After Prien's raid the east channel was sealed off. You should have exactly zero chance of getting in that main south entrance.

Perhaps:-

Minefields are not installed
IRAI is not install or at reduced difficulty.
Player was very lucky

Note hull status in post one shows 5%

I have a saved game as i'm in Scapa. I'll try to find mines.....

Hope to help for the new scenario.....

In that case maybe the game isn't so screwy...but your planning sure was!

Seriously, though, my comment was also based on someone in another thread recommending Scapa Flow in SH5 because it was so easy. If mods have made it more realistic then that's great. I do like the game, especially with the work that's been done to it, and look forward to playing it more when I finally get a computer that can handle it properly.
