Default Is SH5 now playable?

When it was first released, all reviews criticized it for being unbelievably buggy, poor and clumsy controls with the captain command system, horrible enemy AI, etc.

I heard that 1.2 patch has come out, and it has been more than a year, surely there are a lot of mods now for the game.

My question is, is the latest version of SH5 now playable with mods, if it is, is it enjoyable?

How does it compare to SH3 in terms of quality?

Have a read through the SH5 mods section, a lot has been changed by very few people here, and they are still modding/tweaking/creating/correcting things all the time.

Don't rely on others to tell you if you'll like it, only you can do that, and for the cost of SH5 nowadays it'd be daft not to at least try it. It is different to SH3, but there are mods to change UI to make it more familiar, and I'm sure there are, or will be, many more.

Every game is released with some bugs, a few get patched out, but not every game has such a community as this one.

I think that now SH 5 is in the same state just before the release of RUB in SH3.

The game have a huge potential in modding but people still needs time to figure for example how import and export units, make new playable submarines and improve other areas of the game.

Modded with megamods i´m sure that could be a lot better compared with sh3
