Hello,
first off all, let me introduce myself. I have been an SHIII enthusiast for the past 3 years. I lurked for a while and downloaded some mods, and now comes the opportunity for my first post. While trying to get through the Strait of Dover in February '40 at 16x TC (GWX 3+ some eye candy mods) I returned to the bridge to look out for enemy warships myself. My watch crew must have been high or asleep because they weren't too eager to let me know about this: ![]() We ran "aground" on a floating shipwreck, which seems to be an environmental object because it was not reported and is unsinkable. It took about 5 minutes of maximum diesel power and alternating between hard to starboard and hard to port to get off the damn thing. The strange thing: the whole time I was in contact with the obvious trap, my speed was shown as the 14 kn we were making before we hit the wreck although we were completely stationary. I was not getting any damage reports despite the obvious sounds of metal scratching on metal. And when the boat began to slip back into open water, it looked very glitched, almost like the graphics engine had a hard time with it. I suppose that wreck is a submarine trap? Well it is a good one. Anyone else encountered that thing in their carreer? Similar experiences? Best regards, Gnonz |

I belive thats a GWX thing, and becuase of the limitations of the game I dont belive you take damage for raming an enemy ship thats not moving (I think).

Never saw a wreck like that in the open ocean. Only the ones in harbors or approaches.

During last patrol bow of the previosly sunk freighter was after four hours still above surfarce. Depth was 50m under keel and ship was about 150m long. Guess it's rear end got stuck deep in the mud.
Years of gaming and it was my first time. Didn't collide with it though.

There's nothing like that scripted into GWX in that area so my guess would be it's a vessel sunk by air attack or overwhelmed by weather conditions in shallow water.
