Default HMAS Choules arrives in Sydney

http://www.skynews.com.au/national/a...2&cId=National

Ex RN vessel Largs Bay renamed and commissioned earlier this week as HMAS Choules, named for the late Claude Choules, the last WWI vetran, who died earlier this year, arrived in Sydney today. Might have to go take some shots in the next few weeks.

Look after her, she's hardly done any mileage!

My boy knows someone who served on her and told him she was a good/happy ship during her short RN career.

I think we are lucky to get her. She'll be a great complement to the existing fleet, particularly for disaster recovery efforts in the APAC region. I think they are expecting some work for her already this Cyclone season.

Yeah....this bit was interesting to note:

Choules would join HMAS Tobruk, the leased vessel Windermere and the New Zealand navy vessel Canterbury to conduct humanitarian and disaster relief during the current cyclone season,
