Hi,
I have noticed that on several occasions I am sinking vessels in the British Coastal Waters campaign (I have just purchased SH5 from Amazon as it was too cheap to pass up) and they are not showing as sunk on the map. They get logged in the captains log, but other than that they are not showing in the log book. Also, the captains log seems strange to me; It keeps sending me reports on U-35, which appears to be in the Mediterranean...seems odd. Now the mods:- Clean install and I use DarkWraiths UI mod (6_9_0) with Trevallys tutorials (all for v0.2) and a radio mod. They are installed in that order. Is this a game bug, strange as I see not many ppl reporting it? Apart from those issues - the log book weirdness and the non-marking of sunk ships, its not so bad - not as bad as some of the reviews made out when the game was first released, the main reason I avoided buying back then. With the UI mod its pretty damn neat. A few CTDs, but the regular autosave feature helps with those issues. Thanks |

Hi sparrs
![]() TDWs Ui uses its own version of the sunk ship icon and will not place it on the exact location, but they do normally show. You should report this in is UI thread - he may want you to run debug before sinking a ship to see what is happening. See here to run the bug app C:\Ubisoft\Silent Hunter 5\data\Applications\Dbgview.exe You can fix the uboat number by using his options editor ![]() |

Hi
I went through the files, and the kills are there in the cfg files in the documents/shv/ folders, and I see why the game is still calling me U-32 when I should have been U-021. So I edited this, hope its not hard coded into a data file. It happened three times, once per patrol. Strange.... Thanks |

Update:
No matter what I edit in the Documents/SHV/Data/cfg file (the location where the save games are kept), i.e changing the name of the sub, it always reverts back to U-32. In the end, to keep it the same name sub, I changed my sub name in DarkWraiths .py file editor to what the game wanted me to call it. At least that is sorted now. I just sank two tankers off the coast of Kent; one left no record on the map, but I had a radio SOS call message stating it was sunk and it showed up in the captains log and not the ship message log, the other showed a sunk icon, but no SOS (I think that is a random feature?) and showed both in the captains log and the ship log. I have now turned off synched save game files from the ubisoft servers to see if it makes a difference; maybe because my files were synched it kept re-writing my playerconfig file? Just a thought. Any one else have any ideas on this? Thanks |

Here is the destroyed units file from an in-game save, the latest one. It shows the two ships sunk; the first has no co-ordinates, so is this the reason why?
Thanks: SinkData_0] TotalTonage=0 UnitsDestroyed=0 [SinkData_1] TotalTonage=21612 UnitsDestroyed=3 [SinkData_2] TotalTonage=0 UnitsDestroyed=0 [TotalDestroyedUnits] UnitsDestroyedNR=2 [Unit_0] ClassName=KLWarSupplies Name=_BR Large Merchant / War supplies (ProxY)#891 UnitType=102 eSide=1 Year=12 Day=15 Longitude=1.000000 Height=1.000000 Latitude=1.000000 Tonnage=7004 FromNode=Rotterdam [Unit_1] ClassName=T3Cimmaron Name=_BR Large Tanker#2297 UnitType=101 eSide=1 Year=12 Day=16 Longitude=230267.062500 Height=-12.315760 Latitude=6195622.500000 Tonnage=7604 FromNode=Calais |

When you visit the Kill Log, does it correctly reflect tonage and number of ships sunk?
To change sub name you need to edit the files located @ Documents\SH5\data\cfg\SaveGames\<latest_Date_Modi fied_folder> If you are editing the files in the Documents\SH5\data\cfg folder, these are what you started your patrol with not what you currently are with excpetion of a couple files that are updated there as well but the info is loaded from the SaveGame folder when loading saved game. |

In the captains log, yes, two ships sunk right tonnage - but in the ships log nothing at all - no credit.
