I'm with Obama on this one; too often, members of both parties will stick on irrelevant little favorite bits of "pork" or pet projects to legislation with no regard to the harm delays or veto of the bill may bring. If what you want to get passed is that important, it should pass on its own not tacked on to bill you believe is a slam dunk so you can avoid debate or criticism or defeat...

I agree. Off topic amendments to a bill should be prohibited.

Nice to see he is actually going to do something he promised to do back in 08, that got him elected,took him long enough, now we can go for that transparencey thingy, no more closed door deals, maybe that Blago thing got a little to close to home, we will see.
