Obama Strikes Populist Chord With Speech in Heartland

The speech, and the days of buildup that preceded it, marked the presidents most stark attack so far on what he described as breathtaking greed.

Quote:
OSAWATOMIE, Kan.Venturing into the conservative heartland, President Obama on Tuesday delivered his most pointed appeal yet for using taxes and regulations to level the economic playing field. This country succeeds when everyone gets a fair shot, when everyone does their fair share, and when everyone plays by the same rules,he told a crowd packed into a school gymnasium. Infusing his speech with the type of populist language that has emerged in the Occupy protests around the nation, Mr. Obama warned that growing income inequality meant that the United States was undermining its middle class. He said it gives lie to the promise thats at the very heart of America: that this is the place where you can make it if you try. This is a make or break moment for the middle class, and all those who are fighting to get into the middle class, Mr. Obama said as he sought to make an economic case for his re-election next year. At stake is whether this will be a country where working people can earn enough to raise a family, build a modest savings, own a home and secure their retirement.

Me too, keep up the good work Mr. O in no time at all we all will be in the middle class, it sure will be nice when this all comes together, no more class warfare every one will be equal, even the millionaires and billionaires, everyone will be doing their fare share, there won't be no need for those coperate jets, and those big homes in Martha s Vineyards, because we will all be, in between a rock and a hard place, supporting this out of control government.

The President and Congress will get my belief and support the day they announce that they are leading the way by reducing all their own salaries to middle-class levels and outlawing lobbyists.

Hip, hip hooray, I'm dancing in the street, I can't wait for the long bread lines to form in our new society, everyone will be equally poor, except the privileged ones that work for the government, all hail the Federated States of the Western Hemisphere. What a country, I can't wait to be as dirt poor as those in Haiti.
