Hardly the case. I've seen dead forums where there are weeks and months between posts. This isn't one of them.

You want to see a dead Submarine Forum?

http://204.13.154.195/phorum/index.php

Still a good site for information, but that forum is "overdue, presumed sunk"

I think it may seem dead because, as far as i know, all major mod work has stopped. Now i'm not saying all mod work has stopped (has it? I don't know.) , just the big ticket items. IMO, modders in general are the heart and soul of any silent hunter community. Not enough mods (both large and small) being published/updated, forum activity in general will decrease. More modding, more activity. Less modding, less activity.

Look at any forum, look how many mods are actively being worked on, and then compare that to the activity. The SH4 ATO and PTO workshop forums compared to one another are a great example.

Sim was released in - what? - 2005?

It's been along while and all of the small mods have been made - many remade - and the large mods are stable.

Folks are busy playing or have moved on to other things. A few newbies post and the old hands respond.

Pretty much the normal activity arc for a forum.

I left for a while (few years, no big deal ), came back. I have been NECROMANCED here then, if you will, by some bloodthirsty U-boat shaman.

The spell he cast? U-571. And it makes me laugh. The WHOLE time I was watching it, whenever the subs were on screen I was thinking "OH christ they got this wrong," or "COME on, submariners didn't mow down f*cking survivors," AGGGGGH! Coming to these forums YEARS ago, learning from the incredibly wise minds here, watching Das Boot, playing Silent Hunter and Grey Wolves and TMO....I've been spoiled ROTTEN by this very much alive community.

And so I'd like to say thanks. Thank you again, for all you do LONG LIVE SUBSIM!

Welcome back, The Renegade. The first thing you need to do is refresh your memory on the forum rules regarding swearing, even fake swearing.
