Default Suggestions on hunting.....

List,
I just wanted to see if I am hunting the open seas like the rest of you? Basically I use alot of TC to move around, stop, dive and listen for a bit. Then I surface and zip around in TC mode for a while and hope someone in the bridge sees something. Repeat.....I am not finding that much so maybe that is the way it is. I just wanted to see if you guys use the same type of strategy to hunt merchants.

Thanks
Chris

Same strategy, but I let the game do all the work for me! I use Trevally's Auto Scripts which includes several different "search" patterns that do all the commands and I just sit back and wait for something to be spotted. Stoianm's included "shipping lane zig zag" search script is quite useful.

Depends on what I'm looking for. For example, huntilng the aircraft carrier during the Total Germany campaign had me zigzagging on sharp angles from ine side of the circle to the other (think: the motion of a hand trying fill the circle with a pen by scribbling). For others I'll zigzag up and down high-traffic shipping lanesdiving and surfacing roughly once every ingame hour to take hydrophone readings. Works pretty decently for me.
