I'm in a storm east of Ireland. It's my first war patrol in '39.
It's so bad that I can't recharge my batteries. Even with the boat surfaced it spends so much time underwater. The weather is forcing the boat to turn due west, and then it simply stops there. There's no forward momentum, cause the crew keep running from the diesel room to the electric room, and by the time they get there the boat is back in the troughs of the waves so they run back to the diesel room. I get the 10 meter depth notice 4-5 times a minute. I thought moving from a type II to a type VII would be a pleasant experience. ![]()
