( GWX3 ) convoy kills not awarded
Hi,
I'm in the middle of 1940 and on a returning haul from a resupply ship in Spain to home base I've made a few kills at the beginning of my route, then I met a convoy in the Irish sea: 3 tonnage kills, none awarded; then, after the convoy, I scored a destroyer and two merchants, correctly awarded I'm sorry if I missed the reply searching and for forgetting - maybe -the GWX manual, studied long ago as I did not directly witness the convoy kills (I was busy escaping, I saw the ships sink only with external view), is this related with realism? (90%) thanks

I assume that you didn't get the "She is going down" message.
How far were you from the convoy when the ships sunk? Depending on the range of your atmoshere 8 - 16 - 20 Kms , if you are far from the initial attack place you may not be credited with the kill. OR, you might be that unlucky that you damaged the ships so badly but the final blow was given by nature (heavy seas , winds) and again no renown is given to you. |

![]() the sea was calm, I only checked with external view once escaped the destroyers search: the ships - formerly at a stop and beginning to pitch down and going down the waterline, had disappeared no"she's going down", only the music that usually accompanies the good hits

If you are not there to get the "She's going down" message, you will not be credited with the kill. You have to be close enough to "witness" the moment when the damage done has become severe enough for the game to consider the ship as sunk, which will trigger the verbal confirmation from your crew. If you get so far out of range that you do not get that confirmation, then you won't get credit for anything.

Not strictly correct I'm afraid....you only need be in rendering range but you do need the "She's Going Down" confirmation.

Also remember that in the 1st patrol of your career you will not get any renown for anything you sink - it's a well known SH3 bug and no mod can cure it. The clever workaround by GWX is to ask you to do a shakedown patrol -as real commanders did to test out their boat's and crew's capabilities before going on a real war patrol-. So do like them, go out of port, make some crash dives and test flank speed for some hours and then go back to port and prepare your boat for the serious thing
