Transferring saved games.

I have been searching for a while for a thread that could help me, but I can't seem to find it.
I've just recently installed GWX, and I finished my second patrol some days ago.
But the thing is that I'll have to format my laptop in a couple of days. Which means that I'll have to reinstall SH3, and many other things.
My enquiry is: How do I preserve my career, so that I can continue with it as soon as I reinstall SH3 and GWX?
I'd be glad if anybody could help me with this.

P.S.: Excuse my bad English...

Your career and saves are usually in a folder entitled SH3 in MyDocs.

You can save that and it will usually work if your new installation is IDENTICAL to the previous one but there is a small possibility you will experience problems.

hi.
I am pretty sure tht sh3 stores your career info in your folder of "my documents" (well tht is where mine are saved to...even though i am running sh3 commander i am sure it saved them here before i added commander to my machine).

I've done it several times. Just make sure you don't add any mods or change any settings in between as those saves will need the same setup as before.
