Special abilities

What i need to do to unlock special abilities?
I upgraded the game with U-Boat missions but cant choose this option in carrer and in war patrol.

Your crew will get them after getting enough XP

There are different Special Abilities that are associated with certain crew members. As time goes by, you'll eventually be able to purchase them with enough accumulated renown at your Home Port. Sometimes, as your crew members accumulate rank and experience, they automatically appear with random Special Abilities.
