Default Radio msgs?

Ok, are radio msgs to be takin for real? And does sending in your contact reports and such actually do anything? I was under the assumption that this was all sugar coating. Thx

Historical messages are true and correct
example - the Bismark messages and landings, minefields etc etc
Ship sos etc are immersion only and wont be anything there if you sail there

Generally speaking, if the message contains a map grid reference, it's a scripted (GWX) event. If on the other hand, the message is longitude and latitude, it's immersion.

No point really, as there is no BdU to process them, or wolfpacks to follow up on them.

No BdU? You mean I've been freelancing all this time and didn't even realize it?

I've heard that if you report them within the Luftwaffe's range, they'll show up if the target's important enough. I've yet to see it happen myself though.

I have sent contact reports from the channel South of Norway and had the Luftwaffe show up and dive bomb the ships. It was fun watching them do it.
