Hi,

The first thing you'll need to do is get JSGME, which you can find in the SH 5 mods workshop forum. This is a program that will let you install and uninstall mods easily.

Next some good mods, You'll definately want TDW's UI mod, which adds loads of functions to the game and is basically essential. If you are new to mods and just want to get started quickly then try TDW's Magnum Opus, it's a collection of other mods setup to work together and is also really good. You'll also want Open Horizons 2, it improves the campaign and is really good. These are all absolute essentials that really make the game better.

On top of that you will probably want; Dynamic environments, which makes the game look better; IRAI, which improves the enemy AI and TDW's FX, which is really cool too.

There are plenty more, basically just look in the mods forum and check out the mods list in some some of the user sig's, thats what I did. It's a real friendly community so if you get stuck someone will help you.

Good luck

Once you've downloaded JSGME (JonesSoft Generic Mod Enabler) and installed it into your SH 5 directory, you'll have a folder called Mods in the SH 5 directory. When you download a mod, extract it and then put it into the mods folder*, you can then run JSGME and install the mod from there.

*When You extract a mod, You should have a folder with the mods name, inside that should be another folder called data (there may also be one called documentation), if so you can put it into the 'MODs' folder and install it with JSGME, if the folders aren't set up like that just move the data folder so that they are and it'll work fine. All the mods I suggested should be in this form so you wont have any problems.

Hope that helps.
