Screenshots still freezing ??

Hey everybody, well i repaired all conflicts with my mods. I created a new sh3.sdl wit the help of ThedarkWraith's sdl editor and i have a new 512 master soundlist of sounds that work without a problem. I got the all my ships named in Englishnames.cfg thanks to Frau Kaleun. She gave me her copy and i made changes to her file and added the missing ships(thanks Frau). I have 347 ships in total now. I scripted most of the warships respectively to nation and where they most likely traveled. I changed the merchant spawn rate to include a variety of ships in my campaign.scr. SO my campiagn.scr.mis is all ready to go. I got aces turm mod working, had to rollback to version5.1 since i had graphical glitches with version 6. Invisible anchor and torpedo door as being the glitches.

So my last problem is the freezing screenshot glitch with the Hi-res fix. I tried using a third party screenshot program to no avail. I cant stop the sh3.exe from crashing while taking screens. Now before i ever applied the fix i had no problems taking screens. Now the res fix as most people know is a direct-x fix. Now i dont know how to get a work-around for this glitch. The difference between the stock resolution and the hi-resolution is night and day. The game looks amazing at 1680x1050. So did anyone ever get a work around for this glitch. Or figure out whats causing the freeze?

Thanks to everyone who has helped me get the game this awesome. The screenshot freeze is the last hurdle i got to finally playing this game from 1939 to 1945. Which i wont be adding any mods so i can finally see it all come together.

Wasn't there in a ini. file of the Hi-Res fix? Did you try to assign another key to do the screen-shots?

I used this mod for quite some time, but never had a crash on screen-shooting.

The picture thread is littered with my shots.

The only way for me to get screenies (after applying the highresfix) is to use this little program:

http://www.howiesfunware.com/install...%20Capture.exe

start the program, configure it as you like, and leave it open...

Apologies if I'm missing something really fundamental here but I'm running the game on a 22" WS at a resolution of 1680x1050 , Fraps works just fine and the game looks great...yet I don't have a res-fix installed.

Do you feel you actually need the res-fix and if so why?

How did you change to 1680x1050 without the hires fix?

Interesting, my 28" monitor doesn't list a 'native' resolution. Max is 1600 x 1200, I have it set for 1440 x 900, and run SH3 without any Res Fix. If there's any stretching I've long since stopped noticing it, and have no problems at all with where the cursor is on the screen.

I admit to not having searched long and hard but all I could find was the 22" version and a preview going back to 2007 but (and I'm referring back to the pictures I sent you via PM) setting the screen to 'auto' should result in pictures Steve and I are getting.

When I purchased my monitor 2/3 years ago I wanted to imagine there was an element of 'stretching' but as Steve rightly states, you soon stop noticing or imagining.

I'm sorry but this has got me beat, I only wish I could offer more help or a satisfactory resolution for you.

When i put it on auto it wont go to 1680x1050. Dont know why not. I gotta do some research on it but i should get it sorted but thanks for taking the time to help me. BTW i finally got a stable mod list which is below. The whole time i was getting CTD it was the GWX WAC 4.1 start in sub pen. I dont know why. Im trying figure out what could be causing the freeze crashes with the deck gun and time compression freezes when using that mod. But without it i can run the mods below with no problem. Officially I'd have to use the term often used by Kpt. Lehman 'mod soup'.

Personally though, I see three or four of my own mods there so it can't be all that bad

Seriously, if it works for you and enhances your gaming experience then that is all that matters

SINK EM ALL!!
