Default Greatest Patrol in six years...

Well as some of you know i recently re-installed SH3. I got bored of the SH5 short campaign. So i had installed GWX3 and SHC 3.2 all over again. I joined up with Sub Sim because lets be honest we are the only true sub sim guys in the world. So im on my 7 or 8th patrol. I just switched boats from a VIIB to a IXB. I was actually asking FISHINWATER for some new IXB skins when i switched. So the Norway scripted event came up again. Now years ago i had sunk the Nelson, which shoulda been the warspite, in the norway convoy headed for Narvik at 26 knots. So i sink it again in the narvik Fjord and i had maybe 6 or 7 torps left. I said instead of hanging here lets head home and hopefully for my next patrol destroy some ships outta Dunkirk. As i swing around the norway coast, i get a TF convoy blip 9 klicks sw of my position, so i said ok lets go TRY to sink another phantom TF. Im steaming at 18 knots roughly diagonally towards the TF when 2 swordfish show up outta nowhere. I call alarm and man the flak guns because so far in my campaign i had yet to run into a plane in early 40. Im pumping away with my 3.7cm single shot cannon and mange to get one fish smoking prior to their bombrun they fly over and miss 200 yards of the port bow. They swing around and on the second pass i shoot one down, but the second one dives right over my boat(U-123 randomly assigned which was one of the most successful boats of the war but i digress) and hits me dead center in the flak gun. Destroying the larger one and killing all 3 flak operators who btw just shot down the other plane in the sortie. I hear MEDIC!!!! and am deciding should i dive or fight it out when literally over the horizon i hear ship spotted and i see a CB dest and a Southhampton CRuiser and astonishingly a Illustrious Carrier. I dive immediately and swing the boat around while maging repairs in the boat which was at 67% integrity from the bombing. I see thru the Scope the carrier in all her majesty zigging and zagging. Im way to north so i resurface, like a mad man and go to standard and disable battery charging, all the while the destroyer is swinging shots 100 yards off my star bow. I make it roughly 80 yards and i get hit in the deck gun and am down to 47% Integrity and decide i pushed my luck to far and dive again. The CV is 4k away from me the Destroyer roughly 3.5k away and i line up for my shot. I spread all 4 tubes over a large area. I switch to contact, because i already had 3 duds on the nelson prior. and set torp depth to 0. I shoot all tubes and dive and go silent. 1:30 later i hear 3 hits and she goes up like confetti. I was so happy even though im getting DC all over my head. i keep knuckling left and right and manage to slip away. So that was by far the best patrol i have ever played hands down. I got some screens, ill post a few asap.

thanks for reading

Go to www.photobucket.com and create a free account. They will show you how to upload your shots to their server, and how to copy and paste them here. Once you have the account the whole process only takes a few seconds.

All the best with that, I hope you're able to ride it out without too much trouble. Stay dry and stay safe!

Default Earthquakes, Hurricanes and ??

Yea Theroc44 , just made sure the cellerway steps and subpump were all cleaned and in good working order. Here in Baltimore there calling for 7" of rain and 50-70mph winds. Going to try to make it to my patrol grid (CF49) before I save and shut the computer down tonite. We still have overhead power lines here, and no dought we'll be in the dark for a few hours. The last hurricane we were out for about 4 or 5 days. Gonna get ice tomorrow to keep my beer cold. Heck with the food, LOL. Man with the earthquake earlyer this week and the hurricane Saturday and Sunday, whats next locus ?

yea the subpump behind my house was bad hadda clean like a mad man to get everything in workng order. Im just hoping we dont lose power cause that would stink. I gotta recharge all my devices today and early tomorrow. So at least ill have my book reader and PSP ready to go just in case im candle lighting for afew days. Borrowed my fathers little tire generator, gonna hook up the Fridge to it, got the line run to the kitchen from the garage. Just open the door and air in if i gotta crank her up. Shes got just enuff amps/voltage to run her. I hear you guys are gonna get it like us especially the harbor. I wonder if they moved the Constellation and the Submarine TENCH from the harbor. I was just there like 3 weeks ago for a convention i stayed at the renissance, nice hotel, btw.
