Default Rollover Liferafts...

Is there a mod or any sort of fix for liferafts flipping over in the water every time you deploy one? Every single time I deploy one on the agent missions or the supply missions, the liferaft I deploy immediately flips over and the crew is drowned. Not a big deal, just a minor irritation, but if the whole reason for the patrol is to sneak a secret agent into Japan and then he washes up on the shore of Okinawa DOA, it squashes the immersion a little bit.

I've read that if you go very slow, or come to a stop, it helps.

all depends on the waves.I agree boats do flip too easy even in heavier seas but solution is to wait around until seas are calm then deploy. Not sure theyd put a raft out in heavy seas anyway.

In any case, it does not affect your mission being acomplished - in fact, it may even happen this: the liferaft collides against your sub and gets destroyed, and still, it's mission acomplished!

Yeah, I already do what some of you guys are suggesting such as coming to a dead stop and then deploying and I even dive after I deploy as to avoid a collision (which I could see as historical because at any rate you don't want a US sub just sitting on the coast for too long. A quick dive after deployment seems pretty accurate). But it does seem to only happen in rough seas, it seems that the center of gravity for the craft is too high up (like somewhere near the heads of the crew) so it always flips over.

Does anyone know if it is possible to change the liferaft's center of gravity somewhere in a .cfg file? I thought I heard of a mod that did this to larger ships to increase the chance of it capsizing upon being hit by torpedoes so I don't see why this couldn't be changed for the liferaft as well.

Because it happens 9.9/10 times.

Really a good point, they only flip in high waves, they probably would in real life, so wait or send em off, it's their lives...

Webster made a mod for life boat movement, not sure how much it helps the roll overs.

You got that right! As I recall, I NEVER saw a liferaft reach it's target, always capsising. Curiously, they do not count as destroyed or anything. Guess the spec ops guys just like to take a swim.
