NCAA Football 12

Anyone else got NCAA 12? I picked it up the morning it came out, and have been having a blast. The dynasty mode is greatly improved, and I love the coaching carousel.

The new hit animations are improved and graphically it is a bit better. The custom team entrances are also a great touch as they help immerse you in the awesome college football atmosphere.

Here is a small review of my experience with the dynasty mode...

I wanted to earn my way up from a small school so I started my dynasty as the offensive coordinator at North Texas. After losing only 3 games in my first season, North Carolina State went out on a limb and offered me a 2 year contract as OC there. I felt I did pretty good, only losing 4 games in a tough ACC. I turned down an offer to be head coach at SMU, as some of their contract goals were a bit too ambitious. Eventually I ended up signing a 1 year contract with Tulsa as their new head coach. I ended up taking them to a bowl game.

...and then a miracle happened. Brian Kelly was fired after a 5-7 season, and Notre Dame offered me a sweet 3 year deal as their new head coach. Since that is my dream job, I signed without hesitation. Unfortunately the Irish have suffered in the interim, and they are only a 3 star school now. I am hoping to restore the glory of the Fighting Irish over the next few seasons.

I have the NCAA 11. Is 12 a big enough improvement for me to get it?

It depends on dynasty really, or if you want to play both sides of the ball in Road to Glory.

The game's tackling has been revamped and I think it adds some reality to the look, and when combined with new animations produces some great looking moments. The entrances and detail they added to the college ambiance is nice, but strictly speaking doesn't affect gameplay. Likewise, the new graphics are nice (better grass, lighting) but overall aren't going to justify to cost alone.

I loved NCAA11, and played it more times than my wife wants to count. To me, as an avid college football fan (Go Notre Dame!), it is without a doubt a necessity. To a casual fan who plays exhibition games only, I would stick with NCAA11. If you plan on using dynasty mode, then I would recommend NCAA12, as the coaching carousel and the ability to start a career as a coordinator and work your way up adds that much more to the experience. Each contract yousign has different terms, and if you fall short ofr your goals, you are on the hot seat for sure. If you succeed, then bigger schools mayy offer you a job. (Or you can just start at your dream school)

Coaches are a new part as well. I downloaded the community roster from Operation Sports, as it provides complete named rosters and allcoach names are correct as well. It is a great immersive element.

Interested in getting this game but can't seem to find anywhere in the UK that stocks the PS3 version.
Does one have to import it from the US?

Really? Hmmm. I have no idea about that. I would think that maybe it is just sold out in the stores you went to?
